Apple Admits Third-Party Repairs Can Brick iPhone 6 Units
Earlier this year, iPhone 6 users have begun complaining about a rather strange problem. According to the most recent complaints, the iPhone 6 units with Touch ID home buttons repaired by third-party companies can become unresponsive or broken for good after the software update. A number of users have seen the ‘error 53’ immediately after the update to a newer iOS version. One of such users was a Guardian freelance photographer.
30% of Users Still Have 4-inch iPhones - Report
According to the latest report based on the data from a research firm Mixpanel, about 32% of current iPhone users still have handsets with 4-inch screens. This means that three 4-inch iPhone model, namely, iPhone 5, iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s are still very popular devices.
Apple Changes iPhone Trade-in Program, Adds New Options
Apple will soon launch two new initiatives aimed at making the existing Apple Store Reuse and Recycle iPhone trade-in program more flexible. According to reliable sources, Apple will soon start accepting the iPhones with damaged screens, broken buttons and cameras and change these devices for discounts. The second initiative is connected with the possibility to install screen protectors on iPhones in the Apple Stores. Launching these two initiatives, Apple hopes to boost iPhone upgrades.
