Apple Airs Two More iPad Pro Commercials [Video]
Apple has released two new iPad Pro commercials called “Take better notes” and “Need less stuff”. Both short ads are available on Apple’s YouTube channel and below. Apple shows that the iPad can easily replace a PC or laptop for many tasks.
Google to Release New Pixel Phones Later This Year
Rick Osterloh, Google’s vice president and head of hardware department, confirmed that the company is working on the second-generation Pixel phone. The device will remain premium and will be announced later this year. The executive did not reveal the date of the announcement or specs, but confirmed that the company is planning to release one new handset per year.
iPhone 8 to Get New Fingerprint Scanner, Production to Start in September
According to the latest report from Digitimes, Apple will replace the Touch ID fingerprint scanner in the iPhone 8 with a new system developed internally. The fingerprint scanner embedded in the display of the OLED iPhone will be based on technologies developed by firms Apple has acquired over the last couple of years, namely, Authentec and Privaris. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company will produce new fingerprint scanners using the 65-nanometer process. The report cites reliable insiders.
