Apple iPhone eBay

If you have ever wished to get iPhone that was tested by Apple engineers, then you can fulfill your wish by blowing a 5 figure sum on non-working iPhone 4 prototype on eBay. The listing was put by a person by the nickname jtmaxo, who describes the item as ‘Apple iPhone 4 black APPLE GENUINE PROTOTYPE, GENUINE’. In the description the device is presented as a GSM iPhone with model number XXXXX FCC ID: BCGAXXXXX IC ID: 579C-AXXXXX.

Similar to Gismodo’s iPhone 4 prototype, the device have no ‘+’ and ‘-’ labels on the volume buttons as well as storage information on its back. The seller also adds that the prototype cannot be activated through an AT&T SIM card plugged in via iTunes. Lastly, the device has a ’DF1692′ label on its front that is considered to be a Apple's tracking code. The seller tried to search the serial number on Apple.com, but it showed no results. So this raises the question where did the seller obtain this device?
