xGPS uses Google's map data and driving directions, adding a real-time navigation readout and a voice engine. You can also select a map area to download ahead of time, just in case you expect to lose your data connection during the drive. There is also a night mode for those who hate bright white screen shining at night.

xGPS without vocalization in already available in Cydia for jailbreaked iPhones. The new version 1.2 will be ready in a week or so.

Famous russian social network VKontakte created an iPhone application.

The VKontakte application allows you to stay сonnected and easily share information with your friends. You can use iPhone to send and receive messages, check your friends' updates, and upload mobile photos to VKontakte from anywhere at anytime. You can also find your classmates from school, college or university and copy their profile information to your contacts.

This is a new iPhone application which just debuted in Japan's App Store. Called "ServersMan@iPhone", the application allows your iPhone to appear just like any other web server on the internet.

Once the app is installed, PCs on the internet can access the iPhone to upload or download files through a browser or they can use the webDAV protocol. If the PC and the iPhone are on the same network, the PC can connect directly. If they are on separate networks, then FreeBit's VPN software will engage the connection.

At the moment, the ServersMan@iPhone is only available in the Japanese App Store, but an English version is coming in March. A port for Windows Mobile devices is also under development.

This app probably violated the iPhone developer's terms of service agreement, which states apps may not ridicule public figures. This fact is questionable. Anyway, you can watch the video of what it is:

Google has released Sync support to instantly coordinate your Google Calendar and Contacts. Avaliable in Beta for iPhone (link), but works already. Do not forget to backup everythong before using

Reminder: Google Sync uses the Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync protocol, all existing Contacts and Calendar events will be removed from your phone.

You draw shapes with a crayon that come to life on your iPhone / iPod Touch. You use these shapes to interact with the wheel, causing it to move according to physical laws. When it reaches the star, the level is complete.

The application costs just $0.99 (AppStore link). There is a free version of Touch Physics with fewer levels, 6 out of 50 (AppStore link).

This is a wonderful 3d animation the Earth with the Moon and the Sun. Application is free in AppStore (link).

Google announced a new location tracking feature of Google Maps that will allow you to share your current location with your friends and family. The new service is called Latitude.

While launching initially on BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, Android and Symbian S60, Google hopes to release an iPhone version soon.

This is a second application for Skype in AppStore. The first one is called Fring and it is Free. The new application is called IM+ for Skype, released couple days ago and costs $9.99 (AppStore link).

Users can chat, make calls, use SkypeOut, change status, see other's status, etc. Functionality is very close to Fring.

TimeLapse ($0.99, App Store link) uses your iPhone's camera to take photos at regular intervals. You can have one photo snapped as infrequently as every 24 hours, or as often as every 10 seconds. After you've collected all of your photos, you can easily dump them into iMovie or QuickTime Pro and make a simple time lapse movie.
