People close to Apple claims that iWork '11 productivity suite is finished and ready for launch but will be released alongside the Mac App Store in early 2011. Initially iWork '11 was planed to be launched alongside iLife '11 last month and its release was held back at the last moment for unknown reasons. Now Apple is planning to launch the new productivity suite alongside the forthcoming Mac App Store. The application will include Pages, Numbers and Keynote bundles, which may be available for purchase exclusively through the Mac App Store for $19.99 each, below Apple's current $79 price for the complete retail box suite.

The Mac App Store should debut on January 18th, 2011. Last week the company began accepting submissions from developers who would like to include their applications in the Mac App Store. Developers will take a 70 percent cut of sales, while Apple will retain 30 percent.

The biggest mobile trade show in the world, the Mobile World Congress, will host the first-ever Macworld Mobile next February in Barcelona, Spain. The new Macworld Mobile will be focused on developers who create applications for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. The event is scheduled for Feb. 14-17, 2011, in Barcelona.

Don't have an approved Apple device to watch today's keynote? Here is a live video from Apple's event on September 1st for everyone.

The quality is not very good, but still a good solution for PC users:

Apple on Wednesday invited members of the media to its annual media-centric keynote, where it is expected to introduce new iPods and an updated Apple TV, set for Sept. 1 in San Francisco, Calif.

The event will be held next Wednesday and will start at 10 a.m. Pacific Time, 1 p.m. Eastern, and will be held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. Alluding to the music-themed nature of the event, the invitation includes an acoustic guitar with a sound hole in the shape of an Apple logo.

In previous post we talked about new glass cover on iPhone 4. This time our attention was attracted by its new "Retina" display, which became a target of criticism for different industry watchers and rivals.

This Monday Steve Jobs claimed on his keynote that new iPhone’s display has a resolution higher than "the limit of the human retina", which he specified as 300 ppi for 10-12 inches distance between the phone and user's eyes. But display expert and DisplayMate Technologies president Dr. Raymond Soneira is ensured that the distinguishable resolution of the human retina is actually 477 ppi for 12 inches distance. That means the new iPhone's display may be retina display if only it was created to be held at 18 inches distance from the eye.

Third-party solutions provider iFixYouri somehow obtained a complete iPhone 4 shell without any internal components to test its glass face. After third attempt of dropping the device from 3,5 feet the glass panel was totally shattered as it may be seen on the photo above.

It is interesting that the surface onto which the handset was dropped was not revealed. It is also likely that the device will be more susceptible to damage with internal hardware presence.

WWDC keynotes are usually carefully orchestrated. However Steve Jobs faced some network troubles.

Apple attempted to do their demo over Wi-Fi, but as you can see couldn't manage to get things up and running due to overload. So Jobs had to ask everyone in the audience to shut off their Wi-Fi so the show could go on.

The WWDC ‘10 keynote and the next iPhone are just a couple of hours away now. Here is a nice video with the most popular rumors surrounding this Monday’s event.

Ballmer had been rumored by Wall Street analyst Trip Chowdhry to be making an appearance at WWDC. He was expected to announce Microsoft's Visual Studio 2010 with support for iPhone OS and Mac OS X development.
