iPad 2 Is Rumored To Have Rear Camera and SD Card Slot
Reuters' sources claimed today that the iPad 2 will have dual cameras, and its production will presumably be started in the first quarter of 2011.
This is another report that confirms the rumors about FaceTime support in the next-gen iPad. It also named battery maker Simplo Technology, chip designer Wintek Corp and "an unlisted maker of covers for electronic products" AVY Precision as suppliers for the second Apple's tablet.

Apple owes Jobs $37.91
According to the check found on the State of California's unclaimed property search website, Apple owes Steve Jobs $37.91.
Besides that, Steve Jobs waits for $0.20 worth of dividends from Time Warner, along with one share of this company and two shares of IBM. The latter also owes Apple's CEO around $35 of unclaimed income.

QuickTime version updated to 7.6.9
Yesterday Apple released a new 7.6.9 version of QuickTime media software, which has 15 vulnerabilities patched, including issues with FlashPix, PICT, GIF and JP2 images and AVI, MPEG, Sorenson, QTVR and other movie files. Most of it could cause an arbitrary code execution in case of exploit or unexpected application termination.
The security update is necessary only for Mac OS X Leopard 10.5 and Windows users, as Mac OS X 10.6.5 already has fixes to the vulnerabilities included.

AT&T was ranked as a worst carrier in the USA
New Consumer Reports reader survey reveals that AT&T, which is an exclusive American wireless provider of the iPhone, had dropped significantly in customer satisfaction in this year.
Moreover, the company received the worst-possible scores in service, value and customer support, and the texting service was the only one exclusion of this list. According to the survey, more than a half of AT&T consumers have iPhones. That's why Consumer Reports electronics editor Paul Reynolds thinks that bringing iPhone to Verizon will be a successful step for Apple.

iPad 2 to Ship by End of February 2011
Foxconn, manufacturer of the iPad, reports that it plans to begin shipping the iPad 2 within the next 100 days. The initial shipment will be approximately 400,000-600,000 units. Apple reportedly planed to start mass production of the next-generation tablets in January,2011, but they had to postpone it, because of the ongoing testing of the new iPad's firmware. Of course, Apple will decrease the production of the original tablets to prepare market and users for a launch of new device. The next-gen iPad is rumored to be equipped with the FaceTime front camera, will support both GSM and CDMA standards, allowing it to work on a variety of networks.
Apple may show off its Mac App Store on Dec. 13
Yesterday AppleTell revealed that Apple asked developers to prepare their applications for a launch as soon as possible. According to an unknown source, the upcoming Mac App Store will be revealed on Monday, December 13. But initially Steve Jobs planned to launch it even sooner than today, said the author of the note Kirk Hiner.
"That obviously didn't happen, but Apple appears to be way ahead of schedule on the Mac App Store nonetheless, and looks to take advantage of the Christmas rush".
Apple adds 12 more patents to lawsuit against Motorola
Apple added 12 more patents to their lawsuit against Motorola. So, the total number of patents that Apple accuses Motorola of violating reached 24. Motorola claims that Apple infringed on 18 of its patents that include 3G, GPRS, 802.11 wireless and antenna design and accused Apple in refusing to pay a license. Apple’s motion to add 12 more patents to the lawsuit is just counter-suit against preemptive request filed by Motorola in October, which reference 11 patents 11 patents that Apple used in its suit against HTC but not Motorola.
Apple was called the "world's most-sued tech company" since 2008. For example, in 2009 27 patent infringement lawsuits were filed against Apple. Of course, responding to those claims takes lots of time and money.
Florida man accuses Apple store of age discrimination
Michael Katz, the 60 years old Florida man, believes that he was subjects of discrimination. He was denied to be promoted when he worked at an Apple’s retail store because of his age. Now he is seeking back pay and damages in excess of $15,000 from the Cupertino, California, company. He began working in Apple in 2006 when he was 60. Although he expressed his desire to be promoted and there were available positions, each time he was denied. His younger colleagues were selected. They were at least 15 years younger than him. As lawsuit claims, Katz was not given any explanation for his repeated denial of promotion opportunities.
Publishers Are Still in a Stalemate with Apple
Today Peter Kafka, who is a journalist writing for MediaMemo blog, reported that publishers and Apple cannot still come to an agreement on subscriptions for iPad content in the App Store. The reason is still the same - publishers want to provide personal data about subscribers to advertisers, while Apple doesn't want to do this.
However, Apple proposes an alternative to the publishers, notably an opt-in form which will allows subscribers to choose whether publications can get an access to a "limited amount of information", which includes user's name, e-mail and physical mailing address, or not.

WARNING: updating to iPad baseband for iPhone unlock may disable your GPS
The iPhone Dev-Team has issued a notice stating that updating your iPhone to the iPad baseband for unlock could result in the loss of GPS functionality.
Unlockers have been reporting mixed results about GPS functionality at 06.15.00. Until we can track down what differentiates those who retain GPS vs. those who lose it, be conservative and assume you’ll lose GPS at 06.15.00. As we work on finding the cause (and possibly a fix), please report your personal findings in our comments section. (Update: early indications are that while 06.15.00 is capable of GPS, it will require some further hacks. But please still be conservative and assume you will lose GPS at 06.15, in case the hacks don’t work).
Hackers are currently working to fix this.
As usual we remind all users - if you don't absolutely need to update your baseband, don't do it.

US Marines experimenting with iPads for recruitment
The U.S. Marine Corps is reportedly experimenting with the use of the iPad for recruiting. The commander of the Marine Corps Recruiting Command explained in his recent interview that the Corps is doing well in recruitment, but that needs a huge advertising budget. So, the iPad should help them to decrease expenditure.
Apple Has Released Second Build of Mac OS X 10.6.6 to Developers
This Thursday Apple issued the second build of Mac OS X 10.6.6, namely 10J537, which is a 1000 MB download.
The first build was released almost a month ago on November, 4.
It is said that Mac OS X 10.6.6 "contains developer support for fetching and renewing App Store receipts". That suggests that 10.6.6 update will be released just in time for the opening of the new Mac App Store, which was announced to arrive in the next few months.

RIM's BlackBerry Overtook Apple's iPhone Back in the US
Today's StatCounter published its fresh report based on web analytics about mobile users, where it is said that 34.3% of all American users generate web traffic from RIM's smartphones, while 33% browse the Internet with their iPhones. Two years ago Apple beated RIM in this stats, as iPhone users generate three times more traffic than those who have BlackBerry.
StatCounter reveals that a year ago Apple's iOS had 52.9% share in terms of mobile web usage, so such a drop is pretty huge. To make such conclusion the company analyzed 3 million websites with 15 billion page views per month.

Apple Reportedly Selects Camera Lens Supplier for Second-Generation iPad
Last week we reported that the next iPad will be equipped with a gyroscope, a Retina Display and USB ports and it’s very likely will get FaceTime capabilities with a front-facing camera. Unfortunately, there is no mention of how many megapixels the cameras might be. So, resent rumor claims that Apple already selected the camera lens maker for the iPad 2. As expected, such suppler might be the Taiwanese company called Largan Precision. Largan reportedly supplies 5-megapixel lenses for the iPhone 4. It’s also unknown whether the company was selected to ship a VGA front-facing camera, a higher resolution rear one or both.
