Ming-Chi Kuo Talks About Apple-China Mobile Agreement

According to KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple may market as many as 15 to 20 million iPhone units in China in 2014 if signs a deal with China Mobile. Moreover, in 2015 the company from Cupertino may increase the number of devices sold to 20 or even 30 million units. However, the success depends on Apple’s iPhone 5c merchandising strategy, Kuo says.

Here’s what he predicts (via AppleInsider):

We believe that weak sales of iPhone 5C may trigger a re-negotiation of the Apple-China Mobile partnership. However, the indications are that the deal is nearing an end. While recent market speculation calls for the deal to boost 1Q14 iPhone shipments to 45-50mn units, we think this is overly optimistic.

China Mobile is expected to carry Apple’s iPhone. The deal between the two companies is nearly signed.
