It's Cheaper to Buy Mac Pro than to Assemble Comparable Desktop
Apple’s new cylindrical Mac Pro is a very expensive device since its top configuration costs nearly $10.000. Such a model features a 2.7GHz 12-core Intel Xeon E5 processor, 1TB of flash storage, Dual AMD FirePro D700 GPUs and 64GB of RAM.
Quite obvious, the comparable computer looks not as good as the Apple’s creation. Apart from that, it lacks a number of valuable features like Thunderbolt connectivity or AppleCare protection.
Without considering shipping costs, assembly time, or additional complications that may arise from cooling the machine, it would cost just over $14,300 to replicate Apple's new Mac Pro spec-for-spec.
To be honest, I was shocked by the price of the Windows-based system. It’s nearly $5000 more expensive.
