Apple Acquires SnappyLabs - Rumor
The company from Cupertino has reportedly purchased SnappyLabs, the firm, which created SnappyCam photo app. Although the acquisition hasn’t been confirmed officially, SnappyLabs’ website is currently unavailable and SnappyCam app seems to be removed from the App Store.
According to what Josh Constine of TechCrunch writes,
Sources have since affirmed that the company was acquired by Apple, and that there was also acquisition interest “from most of the usual players”, meaning other tech giants. I don’t have details on the terms of the deal, and I’m awaiting a response from Apple, which has not confirmed the acquisition.
As to the price and other details of the acquisition, they haven’t yet been revealed.
It is interesting how Apple will use the technology developed by SnappyLabs to improve the camera found in iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
