White iPhone 4 shipping in Germany
As we all remember, Apple announced that the white iPhone 4 won't appear in retail until spring 2011. But it seems not a problem for a German e-tailer Notebook.de, which has already started shipping the elusive handset. But its price is quite high! A plain, black iPhone 4 16GB would set you back between €649 and €699 in the EU market, but the white one goes for €1999. The 32GB model is listed at €2199. The retailer specifically states that phones in question are not modified in any way and that they are factory packaged, describing them as a "rarity".
Apple cuts Mac Mini prices in non-US markets
This morning Apple dropped the price of the Mac mini in international markets. In Europe the price was cut down on €100. It is now available for just €709 and €999 from most European stores. In the United Kingdom the Mac mini price dropped on £50 (from £649 to £599). This is probably in response to the dollar's continuing decline relative to other currencies. Prices in the U.S. remain unchanged at $699 and $999 for the two Mac mini models.
iPhone 4 Sells Out in Apple's Chinese Online Store in Only 10 Hours
Earlier this week Apple opened it online store in China. Now people in China are able to order Apple’s products directly from the company. But within 10 hours after the store’s opening the whole amount of the iPhone 4 was sold out. And again like in situation with Apple’s retails stores in Chine, scalpers were blamed in rapid depletion of Apple's online store stocks. In Apple’s retail stores are not allowed to sell large number of the device per a person, the online store appears to be not protected from scalpers, who have special auto-refresh system to place orders.
The demand for iPhone 4 is really high in Chine. People don’t even care about price and people, who sell them handsets. They just want to get the rumored device and tell friends that they have one.
iPad Is Now Available in AT&T and Verizon stores
Today two largest wireless carriers in the USA started offering the iPad in their brick-and-mortar stores. The date of Oct. 28 was announced few weeks earlier. Verizon's sale of Apple's iPad for the holidays became the reason to steam the rumors about CDMA version of the iPhone that will be compatible with its network and must supposedly appear in early 2011.
Apple Is Rumored to Acquire Sony
Barron's rumor that Apple may be considering an acquisition of Sony, which appeared last Saturday, has gained more steam. According to Reuters, today the stocks of an electronic giant raised up to 3% at one point.
Analysts are skeptical on whether the rumors may be true as Apple can only execute a hostile takeover which will lower its reputation and lead to negative consequences on the Japanese market.

Research firm iSuppli estimated the component costs for the new Apple TV at under $64, representing a 35% margin on the new device before accounting for such expenses as research and development, software, patent royalties, marketing costs. The most expensive components in the new Apple TV are the A4 processor that powers the device ($16.55) and the 8 GB NAND flash memory chip ($14.00). It is worthwhile to say that Intel’s Pentium Chip ($40) plus the chipset ($28) on the previous model alone cost more than the whole new AppleTV today ($99 new vs. $299 old).
