Yesterday Apple reported that number of downloads in App Store for iOS devices has exceeded 15 billion, which result in bringing in more than $2.5 billion to developers and selling more than 200 million iOS devices.
Apple announced that over 200 million iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users worldwide have already downloaded 15 billion apps from its revolutionary App Store, in which more than 425.000 apps are available. Also this number includes over 100.000 native iPad applications created by developers.
"In just three years, the revolutionary App Store has grown to become the most exciting and successful software marketplace the world has ever seen," said Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. "Thank you to all of our amazing developers who have filled it with over 425,000 of the coolest apps and to our over 200 million iOS users for surpassing 15 billion downloads."
With this number of downloads App Store caught up with Apple’s iTunes Music Store, in which this number of downloads was reached one month ago, as the company announced at its Worldwide Developers Conference.
