Categories updated to v2.23 [Cydia]
![]()
Categories allows you to create folders on your desktop. It is a nice application from Cydia, recently updated to version 2.23.
Here is a change list:
- Fixed issue where users behind a proxy had the app close and safari open in some cases.
- Worked on memory usage. Fixed a large memory leak. (There is still a memory leak in the configuration part of the app, but it’s not as big. I hope I get time to fix it in the near future).
- The iPhone 2.1 and newer froze up when trying to respring with less than 7MB RAM. When memory got low, springboard would kill the app causing it to respring and freeze up. The respring flag should now be cleared in most cases when memory gets this low.
- The app will now detect if it gets closed due to low memory and allow you to continue your editing where you left off.
- Memory free and respring state are now in the status bar while the app is running

xGPS: Turn-By-Turn Voice Navigation for iPhone [Cydia]

xGPS uses Google's map data and driving directions, adding a real-time navigation readout and a voice engine. You can also select a map area to download ahead of time, just in case you expect to lose your data connection during the drive. There is also a night mode for those who hate bright white screen shining at night.
xGPS without vocalization in already available in Cydia for jailbreaked iPhones. The new version 1.2 will be ready in a week or so.
Sounds like one more reason to jailbreak. Watch the video, how this nice app works:
yellowsn0w updated to 0.98

DevTeam updated to version 0.9.8. It will not work with regular 2.2.1 firmware. If you want 2.2.1, you need modified (!!!) firmware 2.2.1, in which old baseband from firmware 2.2 is preserved.
Version 0.9.8 adds strability and fixes some bugs. So If everything works fine, I reccomend just leave it like it is. For example, I use 0.9.6 and feel happy with 2.2 firmware.

Firmware 2.2.1 is officially hacked

Yes, DevTeam released new version of their software. First of all, please, do NOT use unofficial software from unknows sites (f.e. quickpwm.com). We recommend to download from torrent or official mirors.
We regulary publish latets and links. Use them or the same ones from DevTeam .
So:
- iPhone 2G and iPod Touch: update to 2.2.1 with iTunes and run to .
- iPod Touch 2G: sorry, you need to wait a bit more
- iPhone 3G + NO UNLOCK: If you do not need unlock, you are using your iPhone with one carrier or you hae factory unlcoked iPhone, just restore or upgrade to 2.2.1 using iTunes and use to and add Cydia and Installer.
- iPhone 3G + UNLOCK: you need to preserve current baseband software. Preserving the baseband will ensure that you can still use “” the iPhone 3G . To upgrade your phone to 2.2.1 and preserve the state of the baseband you need to create a custom .ipsw with . This custom .ipsw will not contain the baseband update but of course will still allow all the cool new stuff from 2.2.1. is only available for Mac OS X.
DevTeam updated to version 0.9.7 to work with modified (!!!) firmware 2.2.1, in which you preserve old baseband from firmware 2.2.
