A new tweak has recently appeared on Cydia. It is called BlueBoard and it lets you add a blue keyboard to your iPhone or iPad. The tweak is rather simple, so it won’t be difficult for you to install and set it. BlueBoard can be enabled, disabled or customized via Settings menu of your iOS device.
Winterboard has been recently updated to work properly on all 64-bit Apple devices running iOS 7 such as iPhone 5s, iPad Air and iPad mini with Retina display. What that means is there should be no bugs now, so all those people who like to customize and change the default Apple themes and wallpapers can at last sigh with relief. Well, at least we hope for that.
Saurik has released an update to WinterBoard that includes numerous fixes and improvements.
WinterBoard lets you theme your iOS device to the way you want it to. Numerous theme packages can be found on Cydia or you can create your very own.

Here is a full changelog discussion from Saurik:
Jay Freeman, better known as Saurik, the creator of Cydia, was interviewed by the home radio Make It Work. He speaks about the history and the future of the iPhone jailbreak.
Saurik describes the origins of Jailbreak and Unlock for the very first model of the iPhone. Jay explains that initially there were two important things to do with the iPhone 2G - to use other carrier than AT&T and to install any application.
He continues discussing the main applications from Cydia. Cycorder was the first to allow video recording, and Winterboard was the only one that allowed users to change the graphical interface of the iPhone. He also speaks about Comex, the hacker who is currently working with the Dev Team for releasing and Unlock for the iPhone 4. According to Saurik the tool is still not ready to be released to the public due to severe bugs in the code. Here the second part:
Apple has added the ability to set the wallpaper for iPad Home Screen in the latest beta 3 of the iPhone OS 3.2 SDK. Such functionality is not currently available for iPhones and iPod Touches.
On iPad in the Photos app when you select an image, you can choose to set it as the "Lock Screen" or "Home Screen" wallpaper (or both). It is also possible to have different images as the lock screen and home screen wallpapers. Here are the screenshots:
The specialists from RedmondPie made a video showing how to turn the interface of the iPhone into that of an iPad. They used simple packages that are already available via Cydia (for jailbroken iPhone).
Everything is very simple, just follow these steps:
- Install Winterboard from Cydia.
- Install the Winterboard theme "Simple iPad Theme" from Cydia.
- Install MakeItMine from Cydia. This utility is needed to change the Carrier name to "iPad".
- Download the application Shrink to reduce the size of the icons.
- Install NYTimes, Classics and Kindle applications from AppStore.
The result is shown on the photo above!

We have seen a video from Verizon named iDon't and an ansfer from iPhone fans - the video named iDon't Care. Here's a new one, called iCan. It describes what a jailbreaked iPhone can do:
Here is the list of apps for that:
- Can be customized: using Winterboard
- I can run applications simultaneously: thanks to Backgrounder and Kirikae
- I can always use the tethering: thanks to the tweaks available in Cydia
- I call with Skype on 3G network: using VoiceOver3G or 3GUnrestrictor
- Support an open development: with applications to be released via Cydia
Nice, isn't it?
Mobile Substrate has been updated to version 0.9.3043-1. According to Saurik the update; “fixes the issues some extensions (like WinterBoard) are having with the new dyld “shared cache” in iPhone OS 3.1.”. So, if you are on firmware 3.1, WinterBoard should work properly once you update to the new version of Mobile Substrate.
Avaliable in Cydia for jailbreaked iPhones and iPod Touches.
Some users have already performed jailbeak for firmware 3.1 and faced problems with several Cydia applications. Some work with no problems, others send the iPhone to Safe Mode. Here is a list of compatible and non-compatible apps.
Applications NOT compatible with Firmware 3.1:
- Mobile Finder
Applications partially compatible with Firmware 3.1:
- Cydia (apparently does not show the badge icon when there are updates available)
- SBSettings (everything works except the button "Restart")
- BossPrefs (everything works except the button "Respring")
Applications fully compartible with Firmware 3.1
Redmondpie have completed the HTC Hero theme for iPhone. They have done a really good job because it looks good:
Here is a video that shows this HTC Hero theme on iPhone:
Mail Progress is a new mod for iPhone. It will allow you to change the color of the bar indicating the sending of an email message. The application works through WinterBoard and offers the following color changes: Yellow, Sky Blue, Red, Purple, Orange, Green, Cool Grey, Black.
Mail Progress email is available in Cydia, category "Themes", ModMyi repository. By the way, it is and is compatible with firmware 3.0.
VolumeBooster is a tool that, by changing some system files, should increase the sound coming from the speaker of the iPhone / iPod Touch 2G by 20%.
The procedure for the installation is simple, run Cydia and find "Volume Boost", available in the repository ModMyi. It works thriugh Winterboard, after installation you need to apply the Mod. VolumeBooster is compatible with all firmware versions.
Note: Do not install on the iPhone 3GS, because the audio there is already set to 100%.
Saurik has almost completed work on Winterboard and will soon release the update that adds compatibility with the iPhone 3GS. We do not have many details about it, but we know that is coming.
