Face.com just released version1.0 of its facial recognition app for iPhone KLIK with a new learning mode and filters. The previous “testing” version of the app launched in January. However the latest version features face-friendly filters similar to Instagram and improved face-recognition capabilities allowing to Facebook-tag people.

The team behind the app noticed that Facebook users upload much more photos than they tag, which reduce the amount of sharing, Therefore they added the learning capabilities in the app, and now the app not only recognize faces and tags friends in pictures, but also it can remember these people for future occurrences. Face.com’s CEO Gil Hirsch said:

“We looked at the photos people were taking and chose filters suitable for people’s pictures. Our filters are face-friendly”.

Hirsch said that app’s artistic filters complement faces thanks to their subtle saturations and colors, while other filters in the app are often too harsh and more suitable for pictures of objects and animals.
