Global iPhone Market Share Continues to Grow - Strategy Analytics
According to the latest report from Strategy Analytics, the market share of Apple’s iPhone grew from 8.2% in the second quarter of 2014 to 10.9% in the second quarter of this year. The analysts claim that over the last few months, the guys from Cupertino have sold 47.5 million iPhone units. Last year, the number of iPhone units sold to customers worldwide was equal to 35.2 million. As you see, the difference is sales and market share is easily noticeable.
Samsung remains top smartphone vendor with the market share of 20.5% and quarterly shipments of 89.0 million units. The third place is occupied by Huawei, a company that beat Microsoft and sold 30.6 million smartphone units in Q2 2015. This allowed the Chinese tech giant to get a share of 7.0%.
Apple revealed in its latest quarterly earnings that it saw iPhone sales climb 35% year-on-year to 47M units.
The research firm said that Apple’s dramatic growth in iPhone shipments contrasted strongly with an overall industry growth rate of just 2%
