iPhone 5 May Have Live TV And Pico Projector
Ticondegora Securities analyst Brian White and his team are touring Taipei, the capital of Taiwan, and China this week. In Taipei he met with a few suppliers and heard from them that miniature embedded pico projectors and mobile digital TV will presumably become major selling features in the next-gen smartphones.
Though iPhone were not mentioned among these smartphones, in his note to investors White assures such features would be interesting for Apple to implement in "iPhone 5", which is expected to be released traditionally in June of the next year.
"Watching local TV stations on a smartphone could be an attractive option for some consumers. Additionally, an embedded pico projector allows users to project a slide presentation or video on a wall or other surface in large size, which makes sense for the iPhone 5 in our view, as Apple seeks to expand the features in the next-generation iPhone."
White also believes these features may also appear in the iPad to bring "even richer experience".
Besides that, White told that Apple TV and iPad sales were recently boosted because of Black Friday discounts. He adheres to his prediction that in the December quarter Apple will sell 5.95 million iPads.
This is a second rumor on the next-gen iPhone. Previously it was reported that Apple may implement a remote computing technology with using an RFID chip that would allow iPhone users to turn any nearby Mac into the computer with their personal settings and passwords and also to make transactions via their smartphone.
