iPhone 7 Won’t Have Headphone Jack - Supply Chain Sources

According to multiple reports from reliable supply chain sources, the iPhone 7 won’t feature the 3.5mm headphone jack used in all previous generations of iPhones. Instead, Apple will utilize a multi-purpose Lightning connector.

The reason for dropping headphone jack is most likely connected with Apple’s desire to make the next-generation iPhone thinner. Credible sources add that the company may be planning to release a Bluetooth headset alongside the iPhone 7.

Both anzhuo.cn and feng.com claim the change is confirmed. Interesting, both sites say that Apple is planning to release a wireless Bluetooth headset.

Today’s reports go in line with rumors shared by Macotakara last November suggesting Apple may be thinking about dropping the headphone jack in the iPhone 7 to save precious space and decrease the thickness of the device.
