iPhone 5 May Get New A8 CPU And Qualcomm Baseband
According to Apple daily, which is a Hong Kong-based newspaper, some components for the next-gen iPhone will come from Taiwanese supplier Kinsus, which is currently working on a new processor called A8.
The latest processor used in the iPad and iPhone 4 is called A4. It's a SoC (socket on a chip) that includes CPU, RAM and GPU. Apple have got an ability to produce this chip due to the acquisition of such chipmakers as PA Semi and Intrinsity.

Apple to Release Verizon-Compatible iPad Models
A couple of days ago Apple released the iPhone 4 for Verizon. And now Bloomberg reports that that a version of the iPad directly compatible with CDMA network is set to follow suit. Verizon Wireless will sell a version of Apple Inc.'s iPad tablet computer that can connect directly to its network.
Commercial negotiations between Apple and Verizon took one day
This week Bloomberg took an interesting interview with Verizon Communications President Lowell McAdam. He talked about the deal between his company and Apple that needed few years to reach.
It became known that both companies agreed to trade "inside information" about their upcoming services and products. An extensive testing of iPhone 4 became possible due to CDMA towers, which were installed at Apple's campus in Cupertino. That allowed to avoid network issues, while similar problems have became a public relations concern for AT&T.

CDMA-enabled iPhone 4 May Appear In India And China
Yesterday analyst Katy Huberty from Morgan Stanley released another note for investors where she forecasted that Apple will sell 72 million iPhones 4 in current calendar year. Wall Street analysts in turn expect only 60-65 million Apple's handsets will be actually sold in 2011.
Katy is optimistic about the appearance of Verizon iPhone and notes that according to the proprietary Morgan Stanley survey, this year the largest network of the US will be increased by 7-8 million iPhone users, while totally there will be "10-11 million incremental shipments, including those who switch to Verizon".

iPhone 4 Coming to Verizon on Feb. 10
Today Apple has finally announced that the iPhone 4 will come to Verizon on Feb. 10 with a new two year customer agreement at a price of 199$ for 16GB version and $299 in case you'd like to have 32Gb model.
The phone may be preordered starting from Feb. 3, and a week later it will appear both in Verizon and Apple stores. That was reported at Tuesday's press conference in New York City, where Verizon COO Lowell McAdam was happy to declare the beginning of collaboration with Apple:

Verizon iPhone may appear on Feb. 3
According to a source ‘close to Apple’, the latter prohibited its retail employees to take vacations between Feb.3 and Feb. 6, Boy Genius Report revealed yesterday. That allows to suggest that the company prepares to unveil its Verizon iPhone on Feb. 3. Previously AppleInsider had also received information that Apple will not allow to take vacations for some retail employees in the last week of January and first half of February.
Though the iPhone 4 was also unveiled on a Thursday (June 24, 2010), the date of the new iPhone launch isn’t confirmed yet.

Holiday sales of Apple's products are stronger than expected
Another note to investors was posted by Chris Whitmore from Deutsche Bank, where he indicates that Apple had sold more iPads and Macs than it was previously expected. The demand for the iPhone didn't also slow down, though rumors on CDMA-enabled version of the device could cause that.
These holidays Deutsche Bank visited more than fifty stores to find that there were lines and crowds of people who would like to buy the latest iPhone, and Apple was prepared for that.

What to expect in 2011 from iPad
The second generation version of the Apple iPad is expected to hit stores in April 2011, following Apple’s tradition of yearly releases. But, will the device be worth buying? What could change?
- Camera
A variety of rumors stating the iPad 2 will come with a front-facing camera. In 2010, Apple introduced FaceTime. Obviously, Apple is pushing FaceTime for more and more devices. So, it would make sense if, in 2011, FaceTime moved to the iPad.
Next-gen iPad case listings were removed because of legitimate request
As you may remember, a month ago few cases purported to be for the next-gen iPad were spotted online. They had space for rear camera and a cutout on the bottom admittedly made for SD-card slot. Later other cases were unveiled on the international trading site Alibaba.com, which showed that there is a large speaker grille on the back of the case.
According to the Wall Street Journal, last week Alibaba.com was requested to remove the listings of the cases presumably designed for the next-gen iPad.

Verizon will sell 9 million iPhones in 2011
Another Gene Munster's research note reveals that Apple will release the CDMA-enabled iPhone in early to mid 2011, ad 2,5 million of these devices will be sold by Verizon in 2011.
Piper Jaffray, where Munster works at, assumed that Verizon will sell approximately 25 million smartphones in the next year, and 36% of it (or 9 million) will be Apple's iPhones. But the majority of those who will buy CDMA-enabled iPhone occurs to be the switchers from AT&T, and that's why only 2.5 million Apple's phones will be sold by Verizon.

iPhone 4 is the most difficult product to buy in China
Ticongera Securities analyst Brian White provided another update for investors while touring the Far East. In his note he says that iPhone 4, iPad and 11-inch MacBook Air are the most difficult products to purchase in China.
Local carrier China Unicom cannot fulfill almost a third of preorders, and people wait for their devices for around two months. That creates wide growth opportunities in China, and White says Apple's interest in this market is definitely positive.

iPad 2 to Ship by End of February 2011
Foxconn, manufacturer of the iPad, reports that it plans to begin shipping the iPad 2 within the next 100 days. The initial shipment will be approximately 400,000-600,000 units. Apple reportedly planed to start mass production of the next-generation tablets in January,2011, but they had to postpone it, because of the ongoing testing of the new iPad's firmware. Of course, Apple will decrease the production of the original tablets to prepare market and users for a launch of new device. The next-gen iPad is rumored to be equipped with the FaceTime front camera, will support both GSM and CDMA standards, allowing it to work on a variety of networks.
Fortune also confirms the release of CDMA-enabled iPhone next year
This Friday Fortune also confirmed the information about CDMA-enabled iPhone, which will be allegedly shipped in early 2011.
The report was written by Sara Ellison, who notes that after the release of new iPhone the Verizon's network will be overloaded by the millions of new customers, as the same had happened with AT&T network earlier.

iPad Is Now Available in AT&T and Verizon stores
Today two largest wireless carriers in the USA started offering the iPad in their brick-and-mortar stores. The date of Oct. 28 was announced few weeks earlier. As you remember, AT&T will be selling all 3G-enabled iPads with standard prices, and Verizon will only sell Wi-Fi iPads but with MiFi 2200 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot routers, and the bundles will have the same cost as 3G-enabled models.

Verizon's sale of Apple's iPad for the holidays became the reason to steam the rumors about CDMA version of the iPhone that will be compatible with its network and must supposedly appear in early 2011.
