iPhone 4 Coming to Verizon on Feb. 10

Verizon-iPhone

Today Apple has finally announced that the iPhone 4 will come to Verizon on Feb. 10 with a new two year customer agreement at a price of 199$ for 16GB version and $299 in case you'd like to have 32Gb model.

The phone may be preordered starting from Feb. 3, and a week later it will appear both in Verizon and Apple stores. That was reported at Tuesday's press conference in New York City, where Verizon COO Lowell McAdam was happy to declare the beginning of collaboration with Apple:

"Today we're partnering with a giant of the industry, and that's Apple."

"We are pleased to introduce millions of wireless users to the industry leading iPhone 4 on the nation's most reliable network. This is an important step for the industry as two great companies join forces to give wireless customers one of the most important technological additions to the mobile landscape this century."

McAdam also said that Apple and Verizon started to negotiate in 2008, and the last year was spent to test the iPhone on the CDMA network of the operator.

Apple Chief Operating Officer Tim Cook, who also spoke at the press conference, revealed that CDMA-enabled iPhone will be the same as the iPhone 4, including FaceTime support and Retina Display, though the antenna and frame were a little bit redesigned (which confirms previous rumors and corresponds to photos that have been leaked earlier this month, by the way).

"Verizon Wireless customers have told us they can't wait to get their hands on iPhone 4, and we think they are going to love it. We have enormous respect for the company Verizon has built and the loyalty they have earned from their customers."

Dan Mead, who is Verizon Wireless Chief Executive Officer, said that his company's systems and inventory were scaled properly in order to accommodate the iPhone 4. He also called Verizon's network as "robust" and told that officials have already been "drive testing" Apple's handset.

New iPhone will appear on Feb. 10 at more than 2,000 Verizon stores and at Apple Retail Stores and Apple Authorized Resellers all over the US. Customers will also be able to order it online at www.verizonwireless.com/iphone, www.apple.com and by calling 1-800-2 JOIN IN.

Many customers now can pay verizon bill online.
