Here is an example of Augmented Reality, a new type of games on which the iPhone is really good!

Perceptive Development developed a hardware and software solution that allows infrared keyboards to be used for typing on the iPhone, using less than $20 of electronics. They have managed to get an external keyboard working via a custom connection built for the headphone jack. Headphone jack in/out hardware is one of the few interfaces that's open in the official SDK.

They have built a microcontroller that converts input from an external Targus IR keyboard into a format the iPhone's headphone jack can understand, which is then fed to a terminal app that doesn't require jailbreak. Nice!

The cut and paste functionality will be:

• Users magnify or double tap a word to bring up cut and paste
• Pinch "boundaries" to select word(s); Rose called them "copy boundaries"
• Then you get option to cut, paste or copy

Grab Sudoku is a beautiful application in AppStore (link) for a price of $0.99. With this app you can play and solve sudoku. It allows users to take photos of sudoku grids from newspapers and can automatically convert them to electronic format, offering the opportunity to play on our iPhone.

The characteristics of this application does not end there. You can also hit a "solve" button and get the answer. You can also take pictures of different sudoku, save them and play whenever you want.
