Only a few days passed since Dev Team has confirmed that Comex will try to jailbreak iOS 4.1, using other exploit. However, according to the response received on Twitter, it became known that Comex may not take part in the new iOS 4.x jailbreak.
Comex replied to the message on Twitter in such a way: "ariif, the next jailbreak might not be from me ".
Of course, it does not mean that Comex leaves the scene and would not take part in jailbreaking as Geohot, most likely it is only this version he isn’t planning to jailbreak. Nevertheless the smile in his reply certainly means something good...

Here is a small comment from MuscleNerd about the upcoming iOS 4 jailbreak:
the next jailbreak from @comex is like first Spirit..all devices, all bootroms, latest FW, painless install
iH8Sn0w has successfully performed a tethered jailbreak for iPhone 3GS with new firmware iOS 4 and the new bootrom. Unfortunately this jailbreak requires users to have 3.1.2 SHSH blobs saved.
Alright... If anyone has their 3.1.2 SHSH blobs, NOT 3.1.3. Then I'll see if I can produce a tool that will do this job...
Here is a video demo posted by AKinGdom1:
The utility will be available soon. Might be as soon as tomorrow.
DevTeam updated iOS 4 jailbreak utility redsn0w to version 0.9.5b5-5. That should fix any APN or MMS issues that users were seeing. It’s safe to re-run it on an already jailbroken iPhone without restoring. Just deselect "Install Cydia" if you do that.
Supported devices are still only iPhone3G and iPod Touch 2G (not MC)
You can download the latest version here.

Apple recentrly released new version of iPhone OS 4. it is called iOS 4.0 GM. Here is an update from DevTeam about iOS 4 jailbreak:
For those who can legitimately activate to the iPhone3G 4.0GM seed, the “point to previous IPSW” redsn0w trick works and will jailbreak your 4.0GM. The “trick” is to point redsn0w at the 4.0beta4 IPSW instead of 4.0GM (do this after you've updated to 4.0GM and activated through the new iTunes 9.2 on your Mac). Since the carrier unlocks aren't yet supported at 4.0, don't do this if you use yellowsn0w/ultrasn0w/blacksn0w. Many JB apps are still pretty buggy in 4.0, so again this is mostly useful only for developers of those JB apps.
Note: If you're experiencing MobileSafari crashes, double check that you're running the version at the bottom of this page.
For those without legit iPhone3G 4.0GM seed access, please wait until the full public 4.0 release for updates to the jailbreak tools.
You can download redsn0w 0.9.5.b4 here.
MuscleNerd just released redsn0w 0.9.5 beta - the first public jailbreak of iPhone OS 4. This utility is only for developers of jailbroken apps, so they can update apps for firmware 4.0. The jailbreak only supports the iPhone 3G and runs on MAC OS X. There is no carrier unlock right now.
You can download RedSn0w 0.9.5 and get more info
A few hours ago iH8sn0w posted a tweet that he is able to run jailbreak on the new firmware 4.0 beta 1. DarkMalloc, another developer who worked on the project, has just released new video that shows firmware 4.0 jailbreak on iPhone 3G:
The interesting thing, besides the presence of Cydia and MobileTerminal, is the possibility to have multiple applications open at once. That means that multitasking on iPhone 3G can be enabled. Officially Apple doesn't want to activate this functionality on iPhone 3G, just iPhone 3GS and later devices.
