The iMac iPhone 4G Concept
Mysterious designer with nickname Hdi has created a nice concept image of what the iPhone 4G would look like if Apple modeled it after the iMac. This concept mixes aluminum and glass just like an iMac.

Apple has ordered a large quantity of LED flash for the future iPhone's camera
Unfortunately there is no flash on the iPhone's camera. The picture quality and the resulting video are really good, but when it's dark you just do not see anything on photos. According to rumors, in fact, Apple is looking to buy from a specialized manufacturer a large amount of LED flash to be mounted close to the camera probably in the next version of iPhone.
These Items, according to a company in Amsterdam, are usually combined with 5 megapixel sensors. Hopefully we will soon see a new version of iPhone with 5-megapixel camera and LED flash.
Apple Tablet's estimated cost is $347.23
Analyst Ashok Kumar of Northeast Securities shared his ideas about the future Apple Tablet device. Kumar said the tablet processor will be manufactured by Samsung and will be based on the Cortex-A8 ARM architecture with a speed of about 1GHz. There are also rumors that the tablet, along with the next generation iPhone, would be based on ARM's new Cortex-A9 architecture with two or four cores.
Also this week, Jeffrey Fidacaro of Susquehanna Financial provided a projection of how much the internal components of Apple's tablet might cost without even knowing for sure what they are. The analyst assumes the device will run on an Intel Atom processor, would include 2GB of DRAM, and sport a 3.2 megapixel camera. If Apple went with an ARM-based processor, Fidacaro said, the tablet's cost could be reduced by as much as $50. If Apple will use a 128GB SSD, the price will be increased by several hundred dollars. iPhone OS 4.0 Beta will be launched January 27th
French site Mac4Ever () claims that Apple's special media event now reportedly scheduled for January 27th will see both the introduction of the company's much-rumored tablet device and the launch of beta versions of iPhone OS 4.0 and the associated Software Development Kit for developers.
Rumors say SDK will include a "simulator" to assist developers in adapting their existing App Store applications to support the tablet's screen resolution. The deployment of tools for supporting multiple screen resolutions could also pave the way for a higher-resolution iPhone in the future.

iPhone 4G will support WiFi 802.11n
Next generation iPhone might have support for WiFi 802.11n. A recent Apple shows that such software support might come soon:
- Implementation of 802.11 a/b/g/n & related specifications.
- 802.11i/802.1x Security protocols
- Good understanding of wireless RF technologies & co-existence issues of 802.11 PHYs with other Wireless interfaces like Bluetooth.
The addition of Wireless N capabilities and support are quite logical. Hope to see iPhone 4G soon.
Next-Generation iPhone Will Have 5-Megapixel Camera
OmniVision Technologies is the current manufacturer of the iPhone 3GS 3.2-megapixel CMOS image sensor. Digitimes sources are claiming that OmniVision won a new contract with Apple to provide new sensors for the next-generation iPhone (iPhone 4G?). The new CMOS image sensors are 5 megapixels. The orders are expected to be increased too, from 20-21 million estimated this year, to 40 to 45 million CMOS for the 2010.
Apple continues new firmware 4.0 testing
We published several news about new firmware 4.0 and even new iPhone 4 hardware. Recently one more iPhone developer has noted a single instance of iPhone OS 4.0 being used in their Pinch Media analytics. While such data can still be faked, it seems less likely to be. Testing of iPhone OS 4.0 may correspond with reports of new iPhone hardware also being tested. Any new iPhone would require a new version of the iPhone operating system to support the new hardware.
We can not yet imagine the features of this new OS or the new device. Apple is widely expected to release a new iPhone in the summer around WWDC 2010.
Apple started iPhone firmware 3.1.3 and 4.0 testing
TheBoyGenius report that they have found some very interesting data while analyzing the access statistics to their web site:
We can see that this data is related to the new iPhone firmware 3.1.3 and 4.0!
The iPhone OS 3.1.3 should only be a minor update over the current version and could be released even in several days. Firmware 4.0 will probably be released after testing phase and several private beta versions for developers. Rumors say this new version 4.0 will be released together with iPhone 4 some time in June or July next year.
Apple has begun testing the next model of iPhone (3.1)
iPhone developer Pandav informed MacRumors that they, thanks to the scripts of statistics included in their application, have managed to record tracks for a new iPhone model, not yet released.
PinchMedia, which offers a system of statistics and analysis on the use of software, has noticed the same thing and the new device is identified with the code iPhone3,1. The last iPhone released to the public was the iPhone 3GS which carries the identification string iPhone2,1. Apple similarly began testing the iPhone 3GS (iPhone2,1) back in October of 2008 about 8 months ahead of its launch.
The next generation iPhone might include a multi-core processor and Verizon compatibility. It might be released as early as mid 2010.
iCarte: the first RFID reader for the iPhone
There were rumors, that iPhone 4G will have integrated RFID chip. The Wireless Dynamics company has already created iCarte, RFID reader accessory for the iPhone and iPod Touch.
With iCarte we can send and receive information via RFID or NFC. This could turn the iPhone into a real electronic wallet. Here are spec details:
Ontrade China publishes a picture of the iPhone 4G
Ontrade China shows a new back cover of the fourth generation of the iPhone. Might be fake, so take it as rumors.

What Will Apple’s Next Generation iPhone 2,1 be Called?
New iPhone is widely expected to be announced at WWDC 2009. But what name will Apple give to this new device?
- iPhone 4G would assume 4G LTE wireless networks, which haven’t even begun to be rolled out yet, so last year’s scheme is out.
- iPhone 3.5/3.9G is likewise a non-starter. HSPA+ is not for Apple.
- iPhone 32GB is spoken all over internet. This name is more about memory, than a phone. It forces Apple to do actually 32GB models, etc. This too seems unlikely.
- iPhone Pro fits with Mac Pro and MacBook Pro (and even Final Cut Pro). This name is cool, but kind of already used and abused by Palm Treo Pro, HTC Touch Pro, and a variety of other stylus-wielding Windows Phones.
- iPhone, sans descriptor is always a possibility. After all, it’s not iMac X, Y, or Z, it’s just iMac. Whether internal documents say iPhone 2,1 or iPhone 3rd Generation, Apple could be ballsy enough at this point to just stick with the unadorned moniker.
- iPhone HD - high resolution screen, full HD support, 10Mp camera.. all this is just our dreams. Why not?
