Apple patent suggests Magic Mouse with display panel

patent-1

A new patent from Apple shows a display embedded in the Magic Mouse touch surface. Such display will be able to present some information or allow contextual input options. The display on the mouse would change according to what the user may be doing on their Mac. The display will be working in conjunction with actual Mac apps. For example, it will be showing a calculator when using the Numbers app on Mac, or a magnification of text when using Pages. The application notes that the dynamic touch-display input method could be employed on other devices like a keyboard, or even a mobile device like an iPhone or iPod touch.

Steve Jobs Reassured Customer Concerned for Mac OS X Server's Future

snow_leopard_server_box

Yesterday we reported that Apple might discontinue some of its server-relating products at the end of this month and cut Mac OS X Server from Apple’s lineup. One of MacRumors readers emailed Steve Lobs to let know if the serve might be discontinued.

MacRumors’ reader: “If you are abandoning enterprise solutions by eliminating the Xserve, does that mean OS X Server is not far behind? It seems that way. I would hate to see that because I like the product.”

Steve Job’s answer: “No”

His response might mean that Mac OS X Server is not under the danger. Though, Jobs always addresses questions selectively and in rather clever way.

Playboy Magazine coming to iPad uncensored

playboyiPadApp

Hugh Hefner, Playboy founder, announced on Twitter today that the full catalog of Playboy Magazine, from its very first issue in 1953 to its latest one, is coming to the iPad this March. Moreover it will be uncensored. The magazine delivery may be related to Apple's recent plans to open up subscription billing for magazine and newspaper content. Such debut also may mean that Apple has relaxed or removed their current restriction against nudity. Though, it’s doubtful that Apple allows mature content to overflow App Store. The company is likely to be testing a new section. There are no further details on the iPad version of the magazine.
