San Francisco Apple Store boasts sliding glass doors

According to SocketSite, the new Apple Store in San Francisco will boast two gigantic glass sliding doors. They will be over 44 feet tall and 23 feet wide.

Another set of renderings of the redesigned Post Street façade for Apple's proposed flagship store on Union Square which now features two full-height sliding glass doors, each measuring 23 feet wide and 44.5 feet tall, allowing the store to be opened to the street: Note the regular sized all-glass doors in the non-sliding bays which would act as the primary access points for the store when the full-height doors are closed.

The proposed retail store has already been redesigned for several times. At first, Apple was planning to destroy a historic fountain. However, due to growing complaints the designers developed a project of the fountain relocation. Another addition is an 8-foot wide glass window located on the side wall.

You can find the render below.

Apple is opening a Retail store in the New World Trade Center

According to New York Post, Apple is negotiating a new retail store to be opened in the new World Trade Center shopping mall.

The report claims that Westfield, the company in control of all the retail space at the WTC, has found retailers for 90% of the first sites to open. This includes around 360,000 square feet in the Transportation Hub Oculus and in the lower levels of Larry Silverstein’s office towers two and three.

Westfield is said to have signed a lease with Victoria’s Secret — and is said to be close to deals with dozens of retailers, including Apple, J. Lindberg, Tory Burch, Theory, Michael Kors, Swatch and Abercrombie & Fitch, as well as several glamorous international brands.

The three towers were designed by architects Foster + Partners. They are currently working on Apple’s new California headquarters and will also be designing the future San Francisco 2 retail store.

iPhone Home button with a fingerprint scanner

The photos of the home button of the iPhone 5S show that it includes some new components. Accordng to Nowhereelse, they are most likely to refer to the rumored fingerprint scanner.

The first notable difference of course for the general shape of the map but not really enough to jump to the ceiling. Even more interesting, a mysterious square element placed closer button instantly revives the rumor. Followed by two other components attached to the extension of the map and that all seemed to be resistance. Needless to say that these three elements are absent from the button back to the home of the iPhone 5 and is to my knowledge unprecedented for this spare parts, all iPhone generations combined.

The part has the identification number 821-2092-01, it seems to have been manufactured on the 29th week of 2013 (mid-July).

However, MacRumors claims that the same part was sold om sw-box as a component of iPhone 5C . So it is not clear what device it belongs to.

Apple will unveil both iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C on September 10th.
