There have been many rumours about the iPad 3 which is expected to debut sometime in the beginning of 2012. DigiTimes is one of the main sources for these reports and now it claims that Apple is going to launch its next iPad at the Macworld|iWorld conference that will open on January 26th 2012.

Also DigiTimes reports that next generation iPads will carry A6 processors, 1536x2048 Retina Displays, 5- and 8-megapixel cameras and more than double the capacity of the battery (up from 6500mAH to 14,000mAH) in the higer end model. The two new models are expected to target the high-end and mid-range segments

This is not the first time that release of high-end iPad has been suggested. ThisIsMyNext reported on this possibility in July. Then, this "HD" iPad was described as a device designed for photo and video professionals. While there have been many rumours about launch of Retina-display iPad in 2012, the recent prevailing claims have not suggested that Apple is planning to split the iPad line into high and mid range models.

Also it is questionalbe that Apple will launch a new iPad at the Macworld|iWorld conference as the company withdrew from the conference in December 2008 and has been able to successfully introduce new products at its media events.

Macworld has run without Apple presence and this year the trade show was rebranded to Macworld|iWorld to highlight the growing importance of the iOS ecosystem.
