Apple: Donate Your Old iPads to Teach For America

donate ipad

Now, after release of the iPad 2, Apple is asking its US customers to donate their out-of-date fist-generation iPads to Teach For America. The company posted on its webpage a teaser that you may notice on the right visiting Apple’s official site. Apple says:

Your old iPad can help teach kids a thing or two. Donate your old iPad at an Apple Retail Store, and Teach For America will give it to a teacher in a low-income community.

Moreover, Teach For America is a corporation listed among those that provide tax deductions for direct donations. So if you’re interested in donating your old iPad for a good cause, you might, probably, receive a tax deduction in addition.

Apple could sell 600,000 iPad 2s during debut weekend

ipad 2

Multiply analysts expect that Apple could sell 600, 000 iPad 2 during this launch weekend. On launch day of the first-gen iPad, on April 3, 2010, the company sold 300,000 units of WiFi-only original iPad. iPad 2 is expected to outpace the original model. Tim Bajarin, an analyst at Creative Strategies, believes that sales of the iPad 2 could reach 500,000 this weekend. Analysts from Romand & Renshaw and Piper Jaffray & Co. also expect the iPad 2 to outsell its predecessor. The two leading reasons for more iPad 2 sales have to do with more stores selling the device on opening day and the addition of the white model. Moreover, early reviews of the iPad 2 have praised Apple for improvements made to the device.

White iPhone 4 Shipping Next Month

white_iphone_4_views

AppleInsider has acquired some portion of information about rumored white iPhone 4. Concord Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that Apple will start production of the white iPhone 4 this month and ship it no later than early April. Apple managed to solve problems with light leaking onto the camera sensor through the back glass plate of the white iPhone 4 by making changes to the film material used to coat it. Although, after release of the iPad 2, it seems that the only reason for Apple to launch the white iPhone 4 is a tradition and, may be, pride; moreover, Apple plan to replace glass back plates with the aluminum ones.

Apple kills fall iPad 3 rumors by calling 2011 "Year of iPad 2"

ipad2

During the iPad 2 media event Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs said that 2011 is the year of iPad 2, so he killed any speculations claiming that the iPad 3 could be introduced this fall. Moreover, Jobs denied rumors that Apple was working on the third tablet.

Remind you that John Gruber was the first who wrote: “I think the iPad fits most naturally into the same schedule as the iPods: where new hardware is announced and ships in September. My gut feeling is that Apple will move the iPad to a September release schedule, alongside the iPods.” Nevertheless, he was this very person who predicted Apple would release iPad 2 in March. So, let see, Apple often makes surprises!
