Quantum Collapse is one of the best games RTS (Real Time Strategy) games for iPhone and iPod Touch. The game was released less than a month ago and has already been updated to version 1.1. Regular price is $3.99, but it is on sal enow for $0.99 (AppStore link). There is also a free lite version (AppStore link).

Features:

• 13 Campaign missions providing more than 8 hours of gameplay
• 11 Skirmish missions with 3 different AI Types.
• Amazing Particle Effects and Explosions
• 2 Completely different factions with unique designs and powers

In next version developers will implement multiplayer with voice-chat. Note for iPhone 3GS users: the game has graphical glitches on the iPhone 3GS. Developers found the solution and the fix is on it's way.

Worms game is now avaliable in AppStore for $4.99 (iTunes link). It is so popular and it is really great. Here are couple screenshots:

Unfortunately to iPhone 2G/3G users it run really slow on therse devices.Here are couple reviews:

• The game is SLOW. Lag time at every action, even in menus.
• Really bad framerate.
• I was expecting this game sience laste year when rumors came up about worms. Now i’m so very disapointed! IT’s very SLOW!

However iPhone 3GS users are happy:

• Game is plenty fast on my 3GS!
• First game that require a 3GS.

VolumeBooster is a tool that, by changing some system files, should increase the sound coming from the speaker of the iPhone / iPod Touch 2G by 20%.

The procedure for the installation is simple, run Cydia and find "Volume Boost", available in the repository ModMyi. It works thriugh Winterboard, after installation you need to apply the Mod. VolumeBooster is compatible with all firmware versions.

Note: Do not install on the iPhone 3GS, because the audio there is already set to 100%.

Now everyone will know that the DevTeam and GeoHot are no longer in good terms and in fact shortly after the release of Redsn0w 0.8, the tool to run the jailbreak of Firmawre 3.0, there were many discussions on Twitter between GeoHot and copumpkin, one of the DevTeam members.

GeoHot  complained that redsn0w uses the same "hole" and the same exploit to run the iPhone 3GS Jailbreak, copumpkin said that the flaw was the same but the exploit was completely different and created entirely by them. Not trusting, GeoHot asked repeatedly Hash codes (the identity) for the files needed to run the exploit and said that it had not been a good idea to release two programs that use the same "hole" (stealing?).

GeoHot also said, that redsn0w has problems (which is true, some users have reported problems) and so he plans to release a new better version of Purplera1n. It will probably will also unlock the iPhone.

In just 20 days the iPhone has climbed to the top of Flickr and is now in first place among the most used cameras.

This was expected since the release of the new model also increased by 400% the upload of videos to YouTube. The iPhone day after day continues to achieve new goals.

Russian iphone user iWert was anle to run Windows 95 and even Windows XP on iPhone. He used Bochs (pronounced "box"), which is a portable x86 and x86-64 IBM PC compatible emulator (wikipedia link).

iPhone hardware is not made to run Windows on an emuator. So Windows 95 runs, but a bit slow. It takes 5 minutes to start.

Ichromo announced Aera, a new game for iPhone and iPod Touch, which will appear soon in App Store. This is a 2.5D flight simulator. Here are some characteristics of Aera:

• Various types of mission and the Free Flight;
• Multiplayer games;
• Advanced physics simulation;
• There are many places and different aircrafts to fly;
• Carefully made in 3D;
• Game is controlled by accelerometer;

Project iWepLite is an application that can find the keys to WiFi networks protected by WEP. Yesterday the developer released a new video:

Once the network is detected the application tries to hack the WiFi password using a dictionary of possible keys.

Navigon has just released free version of their navigation application. Navigon MobileNavigator Lite includes the same range of functions as the full version, although no active route guidance with GPS support is available. In other words you have the maps and you can just browse without Turn-by-turn directions.

In US AppStore we were able to find and download Navigon MobileNavigator Lite North America. There are many different other apps in different AppStores. For example there is MobileNavigator British Isles in UK AppStore. Unfortunately there is no free Europe in one app.

Who still has not tested the Navigon can do it now. Good download.

EAMobile announced the arrival of Need for Speed: Shift for iPhone. Unlike Need for Speed Undercover this new title promises a true simulation of racing. The port has been confirmed via the Twitter EAMobile and official website of the game. Here is the announcement below:

Expect to be playing SHIFT in Fall 2009. It will be available on Xbox 360®, PLAYSTATION®3, PC and PLAYSTATION®PORTABLE (PSP) as well as on Mobile and iPhone.

Brando has just opened its new sales of the Mini Microphone Capsule for iPhone. This is a small accessory, to be entered into the headphone jack, which allows you to record sounds 10 better than the internal microphone. As you can see in the image, the microphone is flexible and adjustable, improves the sound by 25 dB and also works on iPod Nano 4G and iPod Touch 2G. The accessory costs $14. Worms is a very famous game. This version was designed exclusively for iPhone and iPod Touch and, according to developers, is similar to the PlayStation 3.

How much would it cost to buy all 55,732 apps in the AppStore as of yesterday (7/6/2009)? It is just $144,326.06. Or approximately $2.59 per app, $3.34 if you don't include the free apps (12,538 of them) in the average.
