A Thief Snuck into Apple’s New “Spaceship” Campus Construction Site

A thief, who snuck into Apple’s new “spaceship” campus construction site and tried to steal copper pipes and wiring, was arrested on Saturday. This happened after security staff discovered that the gate to the would-be campus had been broken and left opened and called the police.

The patrol car was the first to arrive at the scene of the crime. According to Henry Lee of the SF Chronicle,

The sheriff’s helicopter Star 1 and a police K-9 unit also went to the scene. One of the dogs found Glenn Cartwright, 56, of Belmont hiding in some bushes, Stenderup [police sergeant] said. He refused to obey deputies’ orders and was bitten by the dog, authorities said.

Cartwright was taken to the hospital and then to Santa Clara County Jail in San Jose. He was accused of burglary and possession of burglary tools.
