Apple began building an operational Center in the Austin covering 1 million square feet





Apple began construction of a new operational center covering an area of 1 million square feet in Austin, Texas, which will contain nearly 3600 new jobs.

According to Wired, the construction began on a new 39-acre plot in the past few weeks. The new facility will be an extension of existing operating centres of Apple in Austin, which employs about 3500 people.

Over the next decade, Apple plans to add more 3600 jobs in Austin, which is now one of the largest projects in the history of the city. In turn, Apple will have more than 30 million dollars of tax breaks.
The first phase of the project involves an object consisting of two buildings with 200000 square feet, which will cost 56 million dollars. Construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year 2015. The second phase of the project it is planned to construct several buildings covering an area of 800000 square feet, which will be completed by the end of the year 2021.

In total, Apple will spend $ 304 million dollars to expand the centers in Austin. The project nearly fell through in April when the iPhone maker has faced opposition from local authorities, represented by Travis County, but eventually the deal was completed after Apple established the average salary $ 35000 for 10 percent of the employees object, and pay at least $ 11 per hour for contractors.
