Nick Bilton shares information with The New York Times that Apple is "experimenting" with a glass-wrapped smart watches, "according to people familiar with the company's explorations." The article notes that Corning has developed a special glass which can be used on the owner's wrist due to its curving.
Over the past week, a smart watches were a topic of discussion, along with the release of Pebble watch last month. Also some rumors suggest that Apple is working on a smart watch, which can be released at the end of 2013 year.
"In its headquarters in Cupertino, Calif., Apple is experimenting with wristwatch-like devices made of curved glass, according to people familiar with the company’s explorations, who spoke on the condition that they not be named because they are not allowed to publicly discuss unreleased products. Such a watch would operate Apple’s iOS platform, two people said, and stand apart from competitors based on the company’s understanding of how such glass can curve around the human body."
Such devices, for example, the Jawbone UP and Nike FuelBand were popular at CES this year.
