According to Japanese website Macotakara, Apple is finishing developing a new version of its professional audio software Logic. The new version is named Logic Pro X.

According to the report, Apple will terminate the Logic Studio’s component Soundtrack Pro. Both Logic Studio and Final Cut Studio has included Soundtrack Pro 3, but this component is no longer offered within application set Final Cut Pro X.

Apple’s MainStage, software for bringing virtual effects and instruments to live performances is said to be offered as a standalone application.

The report doesn’t mention how Apple will distribute Logic Pro X, but it is possible to suggest that like Final Cut Pro X this would be a release for Mac App Store.

The report notes that Apple will not implement a GarageBand-like user interface for the updated application, and will likely stick to a more complex and professional-level interface.
