Apple Releases OS X Yosemite Developer Preview 5 to Developers

Aside from iOS 8, Apple on Monday released OS X Yosemite Developer Preview 5. Just like the latest iOS 8 beta, the new version of the operating system for Macs contains a large number of improvements, important bug fixes and several new features.

Alongside iOS 8 beta 5, Apple today released a new version of OS X Yosemite to developers, two weeks after releasing the fourth Developer Preview and two months after unveiling the new desktop operating system at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference.

Most of the new features deal with the design of OS X Yosemite. System Preferences menu got a slightly redesigned top bar, Calculator app got new design, moreover, Volume and Brightness Controls now look a bit different. Safari browser was updated as well.

Those who have a developer account can download the latest OS X Yosemite Developer Preview right now. It is currently available via Software Update menu or on Apple’s developer portal. Before installing the latest beta-version, make sure you backed up all the important files.
