Creative WP-350: bluetooth headset

Wireless technologies become more and more popular nowadays. Creative WP-350 allow not only to play music via BlueTooth without cables and wires, but also give users the opportunity to control their gadgets.

Our lab received Creative WP-350 several weeks ago. We were able to test it in various environments, configurations, as well as with different players, smartphones, and even tablets.

The box has the headset, small travel pouch, mini-USB cable for charging, and user manual.

The design is simple and modern. The quality is very good, just as you'd expect from device made by Creative. The headset sits comfortable and can be adjusted in several ways. The cups do fold, which is good. We find these headphones fairly comfortable and experienced no problems wearing them for fairly a long time. WP-350 weights just 3.8 oz (100 g).

The microphone is hidden in the right earcup, it's a little far from the mouth. This approach differs from many classical headsets, where mic is basically just in front of the mouth. Hidden mic os more comfortable from headphones and design point of view. The negative part of it - it is hard to use the WP-350 headset in a noisy place.

The quality of the sound is very good. This is not a surprise, since Creative uses different software and hardware trick s to improve sound playback and recording quality. Middle and high frequencies are well done, bass is good as well.

It is very easy to start listen to the music: you need is to turn on WP-350 and keep holding on/off button. The light goes blinking blue, which means it is ready to connect to some gadget. On the iPhone just navigate to Settings - Bluetooth, then find and select Creative WP-350 in the list of found devices. That's it. Easy! The working distance is approximately 33 ft (10 meters), which is enough to walk around the house with no need to carry your player or smartphone with you.

There are six buttons to control the headset. Using next, previous, play/pause is is possible to control the music, stop/play, skip to the next track or play the previous one. Volume buttons are used to control the volume. The on/off button is used to turn headset on and off, to set up BlueTooth connection, and to answer the incoming call.

On modern gadgets like iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch this button activates voice assistant Siri. Using Siri users can ask about the weather, add a note, add an event in the calendar, select artist or song to listen to, call friends and even dictate and send a text message (sms). This is amazing. All this can be done with a click of a button on this headset. Everything else is controlled using voice. And yes, everything is done wirelessly.

By the way, users of iPad tablet and iPod Touch player can use this headset to talk via Skype and similar voip apps.

Creative WP-350 charges in about an hour. Internal battery with 240 mAh gives us approximately 8 hours of playback time.
