Apple has been heavily advertising Siri, voice recognition service in iPhone 4S. And, for good reasons, the feature appears to be very popular amongst iPhone 4S users. According to a new study performed by consulting group Parks Associates, 87% of iPhone 4S owners use at least one feature in Siri each month. However, they are not using all features that Siri has to offer.

“Making phone calls and sending text-messages are the most popular activities, according to the report, a sign that Siri usage is mirroring how people use their phones more generally. Roughly a third of 4S owners use Siri to place phone calls, send text messages, or look up information daily or almost daily”.

However, many other Siri features, are getting little pickup. Among them are scheduling meetings and playing music. 35% and 32% of users, respectively, said that they had never performed those actions with the help of Siri. The survey also found that 9 percent of iPhone 4S users were unsatisfied with Siri, 55 percent were satisfied and others were somewhere in between.

Apple is likely to expand the Siri services in the future, adding more partners to the existing Yelp and Wolfram integration. Reportedly, ESPN is a possible partner that will serve up sports schedules and scores.
