PdaNet updated to version 1.31.This tool allows you to connect any desktop or notebook to internet through iPhone 3G. Here is a changelog:

The popular application Cydia Installer is updated. Minor bugs fixed. Cydia is now a bit more stable (especially on 2.1 firmware) and users will get lewss "Bad URL" errors.

I was amazed that very few people know how to turn auto-correction off. Here is what you need:

• Jailbreak your iPhone and install Cydia
• Install BossPrefs
• Install CToggle BossPrefs Addon
• Run BossPrefs and turn auto-correction off

There is even a domain: http://please-let-us-disable-autocorrection-steve.com.. Nice.

Right after BossPrefs update, Categories updated to v2.18. Here is a changelog from 2.16 to 2.18:

BossPrefs utilities updated. Here is a change log from 2.13b to 2.15:

• Thanks to Pumpkin of the dev team who figured it out for me, I fixed the 3g toggle to work just like the built in 3g toggle. No more wifi going on or off, no more taking 30 seconds. It's nice and fast.
• Updated the power icon to use the one sent by user Lucas (thanks).
• Added remapping internally into fast respring so now on 2.1 when you add an app and use fast respring, the app will show up. Note that regular respring does not do this.
• Properly signed the app removing the dependency on springbridge to launch apps off the dock. If you updated categories to 2.17 or greater and bossprefs to 2.15 or greater, you can uninstall springbridge.

Several users have reported an issue in which GPS functionality and location services in general do not work properly after the update to iPhone OS 2.1. In most cases of the problem, location service crosshairs appear, but the tracking blue dot (indicative of GPS) never appears.

As described by Apple Discussions poster hitchsaid:

“Both my brother and I have iphones and we both updated to 2.1 and the GPS on both our phones were working fine prior to 2.1 Now all we get are the crosshairs- the blue dot is nowhere to be seen. I have tried all the recommendations sitting outside for 20min, 3G off, airplane mode on/off, soft reset, location services on….wi-fi on, bluetooth off…. but nothing seems to make it work again….what is really bugging me is that it was working fine before the update.”

The fix for this issue, for many users, is to navigate to Settings > General > Reset and choose Reset All Settings.

This applicatin allows to send MMS messages. SwirlyMMS is a well-known application for iPhone 2G users. Version for 1.x firmwares was in Cydia and Installer for a while. Recently the developers created version for 2.x firmwares. Avaliable through Cydia Installer.

Jamesisbored published a guide, that shows how to block ads, that show up in Safari browser during web surfing.

MobileSafari has one major drawback. Up until now, there was no way to block ads. Ads increase the load time of a webpage, and especially on EDGE cause the internet to crawl. Blocking them will give you a lot of extra speed. This is one of the simplest hacks available for your iPhone. You will need to be Jailbroken and have the 2.0 Update, or later.

1. Connect to your iPhone through SSH, iPhoneBrowser, or some other tool.
2. Navigate to /etc/.
3. Now download this replacement hosts file. Replace iPhone's file with this one.
4. Restart your iPhone!

This hack has been tested and confirmed to be working on the iPhone 2.1 Update.

WinPwn developer posted a note, that the new version of WinPwn will be soon. That is all, not much details. New version will probably support new firmware version 2.1.
