Real iPhone 5s Or Knockoffs Were Confiscated At German Airport

German Munster-Osnabruck airport’s employees suspected six devices of being either fake or real iPhone 5s and confiscated them on July 21st. The men that possessed these devices were from Turkey. It is interesting that real or fake (it is still unknown) iPhones was confiscated when so many fake iPhones coming out of India and China. The custom spokeperson said:

“It’s possible that one of the devices is an iPhone 5″.

As benm.at wrote, a knife detected by radiograph in a bag was the reason of close inspection that resulted in confiscation of the devices.

The customs officials didn’t know for sure if the devices were a knockoff, but after comparing them with so-called “E-Agent” they became more convinced that they were a rip-off. The appearance of an iPhone 5 of course differed enormously. So they said:

“We can neither confirm nor deny if it is a real device and consequently industry spying”.

The spokeperson said that they are waiting for a response from Apple and until then photos of the found will not be published, and have to be handle with prudence, or it could be industry spying.
