Several New iMacs Are Coming This Year – DigiTimes

According to the latest report from DigiTimes, Apple will release two new iMac models in the third quarter of 2017. The production is set to start in May and the supplier is Quanta Computer. Moreover, the company is working on a completely revamped model that will hit the store shelves at the end of 2017.

The first two models will be minor updates for 2015 21.5-inch and 27-inch iMacs.

Apple currently has a 21.5-inch and a 27-inch iMac available in the market and the new products are expected to be the upgrades of the two models and are expected to hit the market in the third quarter to catch up with the year-end holiday season.

The third version of the upcoming desktop, however, will be a major update that is being developed with ‘pro’ users in mind. According to Taiwanese supply chain sources, this model may get an Intel Xeon E3-1285 v6 processor, 16GB to 64GB of ECC RAM, up to 2TB NVMe SSD, and the next-generation discrete graphics card.

The all-new iMac, sources add, will become the main rival of the Microsoft Surface Studio.
