Several New iPads Coming This Fall - Makotakara
According to the latest report from Makotakara, Apple is planning to release updated 7.9-inch, 10.1-inch, and 12.9-inch iPad models. As for the first two devices, they are expected to replace the current iPad mini and the 9.7-inch iPad Pro respectively. The smaller model will also get the ‘Pro’ naming.
All tablets may feature Smart Connector ports, better 12-megapixel cameras, True Tone flash, and better displays. The 10.1-inch model will be slightly larger than the current 9.7-inch gadget.
Today’s report is slightly different from the one that was published by Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities in August as there is no mention of the low-cost 9.7-inch iPad. Moreover, Makotakara states that Apple will continue the development of 7.9-inch devices, even though this seems to be a bit strange provided that the company has the 5.5-inch phablet - the iPhone 7 Plus.
iPad sales are declining quarter over quarter, however, the new form factor might help Apple lure new customers and keep the product line alive for another year.
