Steve Jobs's yacht is confiscated on the case of payment of 3.6 million dollars over design
DutchNews.nl notices in articles of the Dutch mass-media that Steve Jobs's yacht "Venus" started couple of months back, has been confiscated by the authorities because of dispute over a payment for the design executed by well-known French designer Philippe Starck.
"Baliffs boarded the brand new yacht Venus last Wednesday with an Amsterdam court order and it is now literally chained to the dock, the FD said. Port service companies have been instructed not to help it to leave.
The dispute centres on a €3m unpaid bill from Starck, known for his minimalist interiors, who worked with Jobs on designing the yacht for years. His fee had been established at 6% of the cost price, Rotterdam lawyer Roeland Klaassen told the paper."
Dispute, apparently, is directly connected with expenses for boat building. Stark asserts that yacht cost makes 150 million euro, and Jobs's family says that the yacht is necessary 105 million euro. The difference in the price, a component of 45 million euro, means that to Stark won't pay 2.7 million euro ($3,57 million) for design. The original report of Dutch financial newspaper Financieele Dagblad asserts that any official contract between Jobs and Stark wasn't carried out, and, most likely, dispute will be settled extrajudicially.
