iOS 8 Adoption Rate Reaches 87% Ahead of iOS 9 Launch

As was announced at the last week’s media event devoted to new iPhones and iPads, the long-awaited iOS 9 will become available for public on September 16th. Several hours before the release of iOS 9, iOS 8 adoption rate has reached 87%. The data comes directly from Apple, it was gathered on September 14th with the help of special App Store mechanism. We can believe what we see.

As to the older versions of iOS, there’re still people using them. iOS 7 is installed on 11% of devices accessing App Store on a more or less regular basis and earlier versions of Apple’s mobile operating system, namely, iOS 6, iOS 5 and even iOS 4, were spotted on about 2% of active iPhones and iPads.

Apple is expected to start seeding iOS 9 to users worldwide later today. If you have a compatible iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, soon you will get an opportunity to upgrade to the most-recent and yet the most innovative iOS version.

iOS 9 can boast a wide number of improvements and bug fixes as well as some new features. We’ll tell you about all the enhancements and changes after iOS 9 becomes available for download.
