Second Generation iPad Mini with Retina Display May Not be Released Alongside iPad 5

According to Rhoda Alexander, director of Tablet and Monitor Research at IHS iSuppli, in October Apple will show us only iPad 5. Nothing more. That means the long-expected iPad mini with Retina display is likely to be launched later. Well, at least this is what experts predict.

Here’s what Rhoda Alexander says (via iClarified):

"The Retina Mini looks less certain for that time. Manufacturing volumes on that would match better with a Q114 [first quarter 2014] launch," she told CNET. "But given that it's Apple, one never knows" -- suggesting that perhaps Apple could announce the device and ship it later than the iPad 5.

Known for his precise predictions, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also suggests that Apple had planned to unveil its new iPad mini no earlier than 2014, but then changed the plans because of the increased competition on market.

All we know for sure now is that in October we’ll see the launch of the full-sized iPad. Whether it will come alone or together with Retina iPad mini is still a question.
