Skyfire Browser Will Bring Flash To iPhone
Some time ago Apple approved Opera Mini and now everybody can download it for free. Skyfire team understood it as a reason to work harder so now they look forward to bring their own mobile browser to iPhone and iPod Touch. Skyfire CEO Jeff Glueck congratulated the Opera in his company's blog and told about upcoming version for 'iDevices'.
The idea of their app is almost the same as for the Opera - the browser also renders web content though the remote servers of the company and then presents it on a mobile devices. But with Skyfire users can view Silverlight, Flash and Quicktime content without needing any of the plugins or powerful processor.
The video above shows how the Skyfire browser works on Symbian devices.
iPad App Store Will Be Worth $1B in 2012
One of the developers named Vimov made some quick math and figured out that in two years the iPad apps market will probably be worth at least $1 billion by 2012. It can even be much higher if the iPad will gain the same success as the iPhone had a year ago.
Vimov, who developed the Weather app for iPad, says Apple makes $136 million in a year from the first thousand of apps available for the 500,000 iPads that have been already sold in the US.
“If the iPad App Store were to be like the iPhone’s, then 40-60% of the sales would occur internationally, so on average that figure would rise to become $272 million per year.”
As you remember, the iPhone helped Apple to gain 4 billion downloads in 19 months.
Jobs recommends to buy Android-based phones
And we're back now with a new e-mail reply by Steve Jobs, received from a TechCrunch reader. He was interested why Apple doesn't apply parental control to apps released in AppStore but simply denies accepting it. Jobs' answer was suddenly long, and he recommended to buy an Android-based phone.
Apple named final date for 3G iPad retail launch
As you remember yesterday Apple updated its online store claiming the 3G iPad will be shipped May 7. Well today EnGadget received information from the company that the device will come to American stores on April 30th at 5PM. It is also the day when people who have pre-ordered iPad will get it. So the promised "late April" date is finally confirmed.
Two new iPhone commercials: "Dog Lover" and "Backpacker"
Apple released new iPhone ads - 'Backpacker' and 'Dog Lover'.
Dog Lover shows you how an iPhone helped a family find, care for and keep an eye on their dog:
You can see Petfinder, Facebook, Hey Walkies and iCam apps used in this ad.
Backpacker follows a traveler exploring Barcelona using his iPhone 3GS to find places to stay, keep in contact with mum back home, and do a little translation now and then:
iPhone 4G is real and Apple wants it back
Yesterday Gizmodo posted photos and videos of iPhone 4G prototype. Apple reaction was simple - Senior VP and General Counsel, Bruce Sewell, wrote to Gizmodo:
It has come to our attention that Gizmodo is currently in possession of a device that belongs to Apple. This letter constitutes a formal request that you return the device to Apple. Please let me know where to pick up the unit.
Well, this sounds like a proof that the lost/stolen iPhone 4G is real. Here is a scan of this letter:
Here is the reply from Gizmodo to Apple:

iPhone 4G compared to iPhone 3GS (photos)
The iPhone 4G prototype found recently is real (photos)
The story about iPhone 4G get's even more complicated. Recently the future iPhone 4G photos were shown just everywhere. After several hours these photos were claimed fake, because the device looked just like a Japanese iPhone clone. Today Gizmodo posted an article with many photos and videos, proving this is actually the next iPhone prototype. This might even be the real final version of iPhone 4G. And of course this might still be fake, a good one though. We don't know yet.
So what's new in the next iPhone 4G:
- Front-facing video chat camera.
- Improved regular back-camera (the lens is quite noticeably larger than the iPhone 3GS).
- Camera flash.
- Micro-SIM instead of standard SIM (like the iPad).
- Improved display. It's unclear if it's the 960x640 display thrown around before—it certainly looks like it, with the "Connect to iTunes" screen displaying much higher resolution than on a 3GS.
- What looks to be a secondary mic for noise cancellation, at the top, next to the headphone jack.
- Split buttons for volume.
- Power, mute, and volume buttons are all metallic.
- iPhone OS 4.0.
- Dimensions: 4.50 х 2.31 х 0.37 inches.
- Weight: 140 g.
- Battery: 5.25 WHr 3.7V (iPhone 3GS - 4.51 WHr 3.7V).

AT&T Prohibited Taking Vacations In June
Multiple sources from AT&T told Boy Genius Report resource that their company has prohibited taking vacation in June for all of its employees. It is obvious that such an order indicates the launch of iPhone will be in June.
"Same story as last year and the year before, but we've confirmed with multiple AT&T sources that the carrier has now put a block on employees taking vacations in June. The only time AT&T does a straight block like this is for iPhone launches."
Last years Apple showed new versions of iPhone at Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco. Few weeks later the device was selling in the U.S. This time the date for WWDC has still to be announced, but a number of rumors and hints points that event will be in late June, so we may expect a short interval of time between device introduction and its shipping date.
iPad 3G will be shipped on May 7
Apple online store has been updated and now it contains information about the shipping date of iPad 3G to U.S. stores - it is May 7. Three days later Apple will start taking international pre-orders for the device.
Apple also reported it has already sold 500,000 iPads since April 3, and the international sales will start in the end of May.
It is interesting that some people who have already pre-ordered 3G versions of iPad say their order statutes are still indicating the delivery will be later this April.

Apple Is Accused in Unconscionable Warranty Service
Charlene Gallion from San Francisco has recently filed a lawsuit against Apple, accusing the company in unfair declines of warranty coverage for its products. Such decisions are based on the results, shown by Liquid Submersion Indicator that is integrated in every latest Apple product. The lawsuit alleges that the LSI is unreliable evidence of abuse.
