Apple To Update Almost Entire Mac Lineup At WWDC

According to 9to5Mac, Apple is going to update “at least four” out of company’s five Mac lines at Worldwide Developer Conference on June 11. Apple’s current Mac families are MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac Pro and Mac mini. The most likely candidate for an update is the MacBook Pro that has been reported by multiple sources to be adopting a slimmer form factor with the upgrade.

MacBook Air and iMac lines are also considered solid candidates for updates next week. According to the report, both MacBook Air and MacBook Pro will gain high-resolution Retina displays. The iMac has also been rumored to be receiving the feature in the future, but it is unclear whether Apple is going to introduce upgraded iMacs at WWC.

As Apple is going to update four of its Mac lines, this leaves the Mac Pro and the Mac mini. 9to5Mac claims that the Mac mini is more likely to receive an update given the recent release of Ivy Bridge chips suitable for a Mac mini upgrade. Xeon E5 processors suitable for a Mac Pro refresh has also been released several months ago, but the fate of this line continues to be questioned given that Apple has elected not to update its professional-level workstation computers for a couple of years.

Finally the report claims that Apple may also plans to introduce updated accessories at WWDC, although which accessories will be updated remains unknown.
