Apple Adds 35 New Banks to List of Supported by Apple Pay

As you probably know, Apple’s NFC-based payments system called Apple Pay is currently available only in the United States of America. The guys from Cupertino are working hard to increase the number of partners supporting their service. A strong indication of their effort is the fact that they are constantly updating the list of supported banks and financial institutions. According to the latest document published by Apple, Apple Pay has recently begun working with 35 new banks in the USA. The total number of partners among financial institutions is now close to 300. If to take into account the number of retailers and shops across the USA, the total number will be even larger.

Apple updated its Apple Pay participating issuers list today with 35 additional banks, credit unions and financial institutions supporting the contactless payment service in the United States. Apple Pay now has close to 300 participating issuers nationwide, and several hundred more plan to support the NFC-based mobile payment service in the future.

By the end of this year, Apple Pay may be launched in the United Kingdom, Canada and a number of other countries. In case you don’t know, the payments service was launched last October.
