According to the latest report from Gartner, worldwide PC shipments have declined by 9.5% in the second quarter of 2015. As noted by the analysts, this is the most noticeable decline since Q3 2013. PC vendors managed to sell 68.4 million computers in the past months.
If to speak about the Mac sales in the second quarter of this year, they saw a decline as well. The sales of Apple computers fell only by 2.5%. iPhone 6 Plus Explodes While Being Charged
An iPhone 6 Plus unit suddenly exploded while being charged, Apple Daily reporters claim. The incident took place in Tai Wai, Hong Kong. Fortunately, the victim, who is a woman surnamed Tsang wasn’t injured.
According to what the reporters write, the iPhone 6 Plus with 128Gb of storage was connected to an electric outlet and placed near victim’s bed at about 1 a.m. Next morning, at 8 a.m., the woman was awakened by a loud bang and smoke coming out of her handset. As can be seen on the image below, the protective case of the iPhone is molten and the front panel is badly damaged by the heat.
Pegatron to Hire 40.000 Workers to Assemble Next-Gen iPhone
According to the latest report from people familiar with the matter, Apple supplier Pegatron has recently begun hiring workers for the assembly of the next-generation iPhone. As noted by DigiTimes reporters, the supplier plans to hire as many as 40.000 employees. They will be engaged in the production of the upcoming iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, which are expected to be released this September.
