Find My Mac Is Now Available For Developers
After giving developers access to Find My iPhone feature in iCloud service, it became known that Apple has also turned on Find My Mac feature in this service. Now it is available to developers for beta testing of iCloud service. The service was officially offered in Developer Preview 4 although its addition to Lion was leaked earlier. Another Apple's Patent Application Describes New 3D Gestures Technology
Besides Apple's patent application about multitouch gestures, USPTO has published another another patent concerning 3D gestures.
In another filing (number 20110164029) the company describes new three-dimensional gestures (showed in the illustration above) which might be used in professional content creation software, such as 3D modeling, CAD applications, image editing programs and many others. The 3D gestures could also be used in alleged iPhone HD to run such professional apps as Final Cut Pro and Aperture.
Chinese manufacturers reportedly using Apple-rejected displays for iPad clones
Asian sources claim that touch panels for the iPad 2 that do not meet Apple quality requirements are used for production of iPad clones. In second quarter of this year 12-15 million of 9.7-inch IPS panels were manufactured by LG Display and Samsung Electronics, but Apple produces only 7-9 million iPad 2s. So it seems that the rest of panels that don't pass Apple's quality standards was sold to China-based white-box vendors.
Today Apple controls approximately 60 percent of the world's touch panel capacity and actively obtaining components that are in short supply. Now Apple has booked up much of the available production capacity, so other manufactures experience problems with release of their own tablets. For example, Amazon that could face difficulty with display orders for its LCD tablet.
