Apple Stores to use new Concierge app for customer check-ins
Soon every Apple retail stores will have its own Concierge. That means that every Apple store will launch a new wireless check-in service. Such service will allow employees to manage a queue of customers via a custom iOS app called Concierge.

- Apple has sold 14.1 million iPhones, 3.89 million Macs (2,6 million notebooks and 1,29 million desktops) and 4.19 million iPads for the last quarter.
- The total profit in fourth fiscal period is $4,46 billion.

Here's the Apple CEO in his own words talking during Apple Q4 Earnings Call:
Hi, everybody. As most of you know, I don’t usually participate in Apple earnings calls, since you’re all in such capable hands with Peter and Tim. But I just couldn’t help dropping by for our first 20-billion-dollar quarter. I’d like to chat about a few things, and then stay for the rest of the Q&A, if that’s all right.
First, let me discuss iPhone. We sold 14.1 million iPhones in the quarter, which represents a 91 percent unit growth over the year-ago quarter, and was well ahead of IDC’s latest published estimate of 64 percent growth for the global smartphone market in the September quarter. And it handily beats RIM’s 12.1 million BlackBerrys sold, in their most recent quarter ending in August.
Driverless iPad Controlled Taxi
A German research group presented a concept of an “autonomous car”. This is a car, which drives itself, using special equipment to monitor road and environment. It is controlled by an iPad application. First of all, he iPad finds your location via GPS and sends it to the car. The autonomous cab can find you, pick you up, and take you wherever you want. Moreover, you may track the cab’s movement and scanner information directly from the iPad.
Motorola wants to prove 11 Apple patents are invalid
Last week Motorola filed another complaint in a U.S. District Court in Delaware. Current company's approach is to invalidate 11 patents that were awarded to NeXT Software and Apple (which are both known to be founded by Steve Jobs).
It is said in Motorola's suit that these patents were named in Apple's complaints against HTC and other handset makers that use Google's Android OS in their smartphones. That explains why company wants to prove that these patents are invalid.

Diamond-encrusted iPhone 4 for £5 million
Here you may see the picture of two identical world's most expensive phones, made for an Australian businessman. Each handset includes over 500 diamonds covering the edges, the Apple logo. Home button is covered by two interchangeable diamonds; a single cut 7.4-carat pink diamond and a rare 8-carat single cut flawless diamond. Total weight of these individual flawless cut diamonds is over 100-carats. The phones come in a box made from a single 7kg block of granite, lined with top grain leather. Its total cost is £5 million - nearly 8 million dollars.
iPad Will Appear at Verizon and AT&T stores On October 28th
Yesterday Verizon and AT&T announced that the iPad will appear in their retail stores in two weeks, on October 28th.
Verizon will be offering only WiFi-enabled iPads that will be optionally bundled with MiFi 2200 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot Routers (which is showed on the image above). The latter allows up to five users to access the Verizon Wireless 3G Mobile Broadband Network via Wi-Fi. The monthly data access plan for 1 GB of data will cost 20$/month.

Motorola sues Apple. Now every mobile company is suing every other company.
Recently Motorola announced that it has filed suit against Apple over alleged infringement of a number of patents by a range of Apple products, such as the iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and certain Mac computers.
Apple Preps for NC Data Center Launch, Paid $1.7 Million to Couple for 1-Acre Plot
Apple has to pay a North Carolina couple $1.7 million for their home on one acre of land in a deal to enable the company to build its $1 billion data center. According to tax records, the house and property appear to have been assessed at a value of $181,700. The couple showed no interest in moving out of their home of 34 years in the town of Maiden.
iPad's touch screen makers are increasing their revenue
Yesterday Taiwanese news resource DigiTimes reported that TPK Touch Solutions and Wintek, which are Apple's partners that make touch panels for the iPad, will experience revenue growth in the last quarter of year 2010, which is evidentially caused by the strong demand for the tablet device. Nevertheless, some other company’s partners like J Touch and Young Fast Optoelectronics are expecting traditional decline in the end-of-year season.

Apple Granted Patent For iDevice Which Recognizes Users’ Hands
As Engadget reports, Apple has recently been granted a patent for a pretty clever concept. It’s a “handheld device” which can recognize different users just from the way they hold it. Once the device knows its user’s identity, it can then personalize button areas that match whichever fanboy is currently gripping it.
