Another Apple's Supplier Accused of Labor Abuses

Another Apple’s supplier is accused of labor abuses. This time it’s a factory that manufactures the widely rumored lower cost iPhone 5C. According to the latest China Labor Watch report, all the workers at a Chinese factory, which is owned by a Florida-based company Jabil Circuit are regularly forced to work extra hours without getting money for the work they do.

Among the infringements uncovered by CLW include millions of dollars in unpaid overtime wages; over 100 hours of monthly mandatory overtime, three times in excess of legal limits; more than 11 hours of standing work every day with no rest outside of 30-minute meal breaks; illegally inadequate pre-work training; hiring discrimination; and more.

This is not the first time when Apple is blamed for labor abuses. In July, China Labor Watch said that the working conditions at one of the Pegatron factories were absolutely awful.

Anyway, Apple promised to investigate and resolve all the unpleasant issues.
