Apple Announces iPad Air and iPad mini with Retina Display
Apple has just announced the new full-sized tablet - iPad Air - and the second generation iPad mini with Retina display. Both devices will be available only in November, probably due to some issues with suppliers. Anyway, let’s take a quick look at the new Apple’s tablets.
The iPad Air is 28% lighter than the fourth generation iPad; it has thinner side bezels and features a 64-bit A7 processor that is paired with the M7 motion coprocessor. The tablet is also equipped with a 2048x1536 Retina display and its memory capacities range from 16 to 128GB. Apart from that, the new iPad supports Wi-Fi or LTE networks and can boast of a new technology that allows to increase Wi-Fi performance up to 300Mbps - MIMO (Multiple-In-Multiple-Out). As to the prices, they start at at $499.
Now some words about the long-anticipated iPad mini with Retina display. Well, internally it has many similarities with its full-sized counterpart - the same 64-bit A7 processor and the M7 motion coprocessor, the same MIMO technology etc. It also features an improved camera. The device comes in 16, 32, 64 and 128GB - both Wi-Fi and LTE cellular - models. The prices start at $399.
Well, that’s all I can share with you right now. Stay tuned for more details.
