Apple Files Trademark Applications for Beats 2, 3, 4 and 5 - Insiders

As noted by French reporters from a website called Consomac, back in November Apple filed several trademark applications for the following word marks: B2, B3, B4, B5, Beats Two, Beats Three, Beats Four, and Beats Five. The application is currently being reviewed by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The aforementioned trademark applications indicate that Apple may be planning to expand the Beats radio service in the near future.

MacRumors previously discovered that Apple has registered domains such as beats2.com.cn, beats2.hk, and beats4.com.ru in various countries around the world. Beats 1 is broadcast worldwide, but in the future, Apple may wish to offer stations that cater to different languages and musical preferences around the world.

Apple launched the Beats radio alongside the debut of the Apple Music streaming music service earlier this year. It is currently available for users worldwide.

Apple hasn’t yet commented on the issue and it is very unlikely we’ll hear something from it soon.
